HACKBERRY ARTISTS TO PLAY FUNDRAISER FOR DRUID CITY ARTS FESTIVAL

Hackberry Records is proud to be a partner in the inaugural Druid City Arts Festival, taking place on March 27 in downtown Tuscaloosa. In the meantime, The Motions and Sparrow + the Ghost will take part in a fundraising effort for the festival on February 13 at Little Willies. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend!

HACKBERRY RECORDS ARTISTS IN ACTION THIS WEEK

Sparrow + the Ghost, Callooh! Callay! and The Motions all hit the stage in the next week, planning to start off the new year with the debut of new material. S+TG will play at the Bama Theatre on Thursday (7PM) and the Mellow Mushroom on Saturday. The Motions will play the Jupiter on Saturday, as well. Outside of Tuscaloosa, C!C! will play the Govt. St. Grocery in Ocean Springs, MS. Go support live music, and say hello!

CALLOOH! CALLAY! ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM DETAILS

2010 will see the release of a new C!C! record, and we are pleased to announce some details about it. "Sassprilluh Champagne" is the title, and the band completed basic tracking at Old Capitol Recording in late 2009. We're told the album is loosely based on The Sound and the Fury by acclaimed Southern author/legend William Faulkner. Suffice it to say, this one's gonna be interesting.

Tuscaloosa's favorite Columbus transplants are currently tracking new material in their home studio in Mississippi-- many of which have already seen their live debut. These will begin to make up the foundation for a new album! To follow along, go check out their blog.

SPARROW + THE GHOST ADD NEW MEMBER, MAKE SPLASH ON PUBLIC RADIO

Stuart Bond and Rachael Roberts of S+TG have announced the addition of Reed Watson as a full-time member on drums. It's an easy fit, considering Bond and Watson once played together in Hackberry group The National Trust, and Watson owns the label. Look for him at upcoming shows. Also, listen for S+TG on Alabama Public Radio's All Things Acoustic, and be sure and request them!
