So what is this all about?

The Hackberry Group is an artist collective that works together with musicians to manage their careers and help promote their art. Hackberry Records is the arm of our group that releases music. It's a low-budget, high-dreaming operation that runs solely off of the amount of effort we are all willing to put in together. It's completely and utterly grassroots, and the only way we thrive is through your support.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT IT?

If the music that we release moves you, then we want you to tell people. If one of our bands is in your area, we would love for you to go check them out. If you are in a store and you see one of our records, we would love for you to invest in our artists.

so basically this is all in-house..right?

That's right. If any of our artists have booked a show, completed a radio campaign, put out a press release, designed a website, printed some t-shirts, passed out stickers or anything else of that nature...chances are it's been done in-house. The only thing we DON'T do right now is recording, and believe me, we're chomping at the bit to get that going as well.

dO you accept demos?

We do accept unsolicited demos. The only thing we ask is that you MAIL them to us and not e-mail them. We will respond to all of them, it just takes time. We've been getting a lot more lately! As for the type of music we go for-- we want to hear music that you believe in. If it's a good match, we'll believe in it, too. That's all the criteria we have.

where can i get your music?

When one of our artists plays a show in a far-away place, we always try to put a few copies of our records in the hands of a local independent music store. If a Hackberry artist has played in your town/city, then chances are your local shop will carry their record. You can also find Hackberry releases on iTunes and through our online shop.
